How to self-exclude from DraftKings
DraftKings has a cool-off you can set for 3 to 364 days and a separate self-exclusion. Its prediction app, DraftKings Predictions, has its own exclusion — do both.
Where to find it
. Official help article (support.draftkings.com KB0010453 'DraftKings Self Exclusion - Overview (US)') and the Responsible Gaming Center (rg.draftkings.com/breaks/self-exclusion) exist but are JavaScript-only and could not be read. Secondary sources give: Account > Responsible Gaming > (Breaks) > Self-Exclusion (sportsbettingdime, Jan 2026; nogambling.app). RG tools are in the 'My Budget and Controls' area per a Sept 2026 news report. Fallback that always works: contact DraftKings support (support@draftkings.com) and ask to be self-excluded.
Before you do it: withdraw your balance and let open bets or positions settle. Once you’re excluded you may not be able to move money.

Timeout / cool-off (short break — ends on its own)

- Account suspension of no less than 72 hours is a right under state terms of use (OH, VA terms)
Self-exclusion (the real block)
- 1 year or 5 years ('ban yourself from playing on DraftKings for 1 or 5 years') - casino.draftkings.com RG page (undated)
- Longer/permanent: use the state self-exclusion program or ask support for permanent account closure (whether DraftKings offers lifetime in-app) · unconfirmed

Does it cover their other apps and other states?
. No primary page loaded states the scope. DraftKings promo terms (Sept 2026) treat anyone 'ineligible to participate on any DraftKings platform, including DraftKings Sportsbook or DraftKings Predictions (i.e., by way of self-exclusion...)' as ineligible for promos - this implies exclusion status exists on both but does NOT prove a sportsbook exclusion carries over to Predictions. A 2026 review of DraftKings Predictions says it has its own deposit limits, cool-offs and self-exclusion and 'you may need to set up self-exclusion independently' (separate wallet). Self-excluding also removes you from upcoming DFS contests with entry fees refunded (US Terms of Use). Golden Nugget Online and Jackpocket coverage.
Separate products/apps: DraftKings Sportsbook & Casino (state-licensed), DraftKings DFS/Pick6, DraftKings Predictions (CFTC-regulated prediction market, 18+, offered in 40+ jurisdictions incl. many states with no legal sportsbook; secondary source), plus Golden Nugget Online Gaming and Jackpocket (lottery courier) owned by DraftKings. Pennsylvania: DraftKings' own RG page says PA users cannot self-exclude via the website and must go to the PA Gaming Control Board.
Your balance and open bets
For self-exclusion. Ohio terms: 'In the event your account is suspended, any pending bets or wagers will remain active.' DFS: excluded users are removed from upcoming contests and entry fees are refunded (US Terms of Use). Withdraw your balance before excluding to be safe.
Can it be undone early?
. Not confirmed from a primary DraftKings page. Secondary source (nogambling.app) says self-exclusion 'can't be undone during its term'. Cool-off ends automatically .
Does the marketing stop?
Not stated on any page that loaded. State self-exclusion programs generally require operators to stop marketing to enrollees.
Deposit limits and closing the account
Deposit, loss (daily/weekly/monthly), wager and time limits; can be set separately for sportsbook or casino (casino.draftkings.com RG page). 'My Budget Builder' tool sets deposit/wager/play-time controls; 'My Stat Sheet' shows time and money spent (PlayNJ Sept 2026).
'Players can also permanently close their account at any time for any reason through the DraftKings customer service department.' (US Terms of Use, updated 06/30/2026).

The gaps people miss
- DraftKings Predictions is a separate CFTC-regulated app with its own wallet and its own self-exclusion; do not assume a sportsbook exclusion or a state self-exclusion list blocks it.
- Predictions operates in states without legal sportsbooks, so someone in e.g. a non-sportsbook state can still bet on sports-adjacent contracts there.
- Pennsylvania users cannot self-exclude on the DraftKings site; they must use the PA Gaming Control Board.
- A cool-off (3-364 days) is not self-exclusion; it ends automatically.
- Pending bets can stay active during an account suspension (Ohio terms).
