How to self-exclude from sports betting in Michigan
Michigan has two separate lists. The Responsible Gaming Database covers online sportsbooks and online casinos, by notarized form, and can take more than 45 days. The Disassociated Persons List covers the three Detroit casinos and is lifetime. Tribal casinos are on neither.

Because the state list can take more than 45 days, the app-level exclusions are your real protection this month. Exclude inside each app today and claim Michigan's free Gamban licence (released in limited batches).

The gaps people miss
- RGD (online) and DPL (Detroit casinos) are separate; joining one does NOT cover the other
- RGD can take 45+ days to take effect, so exclude in each app in the meantime
- RGD does not cover retail sportsbooks or land-based casinos
- Tribal land-based casinos in Michigan are not covered by either state list; each tribe runs its own exclusion (tribes' online brands licensed by MGCB are likely covered by RGD - ) · unconfirmed
- Michigan Lottery (including iLottery) has its own separate exclusion
- No lifetime option for online; exclusion ends automatically after 1 or 5 years
- Prediction-market apps (DraftKings Predictions, FanDuel Predicts, Kalshi etc.) are not mentioned by MGCB and are presumably not covered

- Download the Internet Gaming and Sports Betting Responsible Gaming Database application (MGCB-AD-2067) from the MGCB Self-Exclusion Forms page
- Choose 1 year or 5 years separately for online casino gaming and/or online sports betting
- Sign the form in front of a notary public
- Attach a legible copy of your driver's license or other government photo ID
- Email it to MGCB-RGD@michigan.gov, mail it to MGCB Responsible Gaming Section, 3062 W Grand Blvd, Suite L-700, Detroit, MI 48202, or hand it in at an MGCB office
- Until MGCB confirms (up to 45+ days), also self-exclude inside each sportsbook app and install blocking software
- For Detroit's three land-based casinos, separately book an in-person DPL appointment (888-223-3044)
What you need
Copy of valid driver's license or government-issued photo ID; RGD form must be notarized. DPL must be completed in person at MGCB Detroit (Cadillac Place) or Lansing office by appointment.
How long it takes to take effect
RGD: 'could take up to or more than 45 days' per the form; MGCB emails/mails confirmation. DPL: effective immediately on in-person completion.
What happens to your balance and open bets
Do this first, whatever your state says: withdraw your balance and let open bets settle before you enroll. Getting money back afterward means dealing with an operator that is now required to refuse you.
. Not stated on MGCB RGD materials. General account-closure rule (Mich. Admin. Code R 432.757) requires remaining funds to be refunded per operator internal controls. Winnings of DPL violators at Detroit casinos are confiscated to the Compulsive Gaming Prevention Fund.
Can you get off the list early?
RGD: no early removal; name is removed automatically when the chosen term expires. DPL: lifetime; may apply for removal after 5 years via DPL Removal Request form, MGCB has up to 60 business days to process.
